There are actual systems in place that encourage everyday people to snitch on undocumented immigrants. You got DHS handing out a hotline like it's a neighborhood watch number. Yeah, 1-866-DHS-2-ICE. Call if you think someone doesn’t belong. Suspicious behavior? Translation: brown, poor, scared, and probably just trying to live.
The public's being weaponized. And I don’t say that lightly. We’ve reached a point where “concerned citizens” feel empowered to play immigration cop, thinking they're doing the Lord's work by targeting folks just trying to survive.
Let’s be crystal clear: not every industry is legally required—or even allowed—to report undocumented individuals. Healthcare workers? They’re bound by patient privacy laws like HIPAA. If a nurse or doctor starts outing people based on their immigration status, they're not being patriotic—they're violating federal law.
Even the Supreme Court had to step in and remind folks that immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility. State and local cops don’t have the authority unless the feds say so. But that ain’t stopping some states from pushing people to act like snitches in the name of “security.”

And I don’t see any hotlines to report rich CEOs who underpay workers, or landlords who illegally evict tenants. Where’s the snitch line for crooked politicians, tax cheats, or corporations poisoning our communities? Nah, the government’s not chasing them. They’re going after the most vulnerable because they can. Because they know they won’t fight back. Because they think no one will notice.
Well, I noticed. And you should too.
You don’t have to be an immigrant to understand how dangerous this is. It’s not just wrong—it’s historical déjà vu. This is how oppression grows. One neighbor rats on another. One family disappears. One community gets labeled “dangerous.” And before you know it, you’re living in fear on your own block.
If this doesn’t piss you off, you’re not paying attention. And if you are paying attention and still cosigning this mess? You’re the danger. Period.
