This isn't new – similar shootings happened in Los Angeles and Portland recently. Protests are exploding nationwide because people are terrified, angry, and fed up. Communities of color are hit hardest, families torn apart, citizens caught in the crossfire. And the media? It's split down the middle. One side calls it necessary law enforcement and blames "agitators." The other calls it state violence and racial terror. But both are owned by the same corporate giants Carlin warned about. Poseen la tierra, las corporaciones, han comprado a los políticos, a los jueces y, sobre todo, a los medios de comunicación. Ellos deciden qué noticias escuchas, qué piensas y qué compras. Y el remate: es un gran club... ¡y tú no estás en él!
No estaba bromeando. Estaba advirtiéndonos. Y aquí estamos en 2026, viendo cómo se cumple palabra por palabra, como si él hubiera escrito el guion de lo que pasa hoy.

También clavó cómo nos mantienen distraídos. Todo el día los medios te bombardean: qué creer, qué temer, qué comprar. Divisiones por raza, política, identidad... cualquier cosa para que no nos unamos contra el sistema que nos está jodiendo a todos. ¿El Sueño Americano? Carlin lo llamó sueño porque hay que estar dormido para creerlo. Y en 2026, con costos por las nubes, guerras eternas, rescates corporativos y fuerzas federales actuando como ejército de ocupación en nuestras ciudades... es difícil discutir que se equivocó.
Esto ya no es cuestión de izquierda o derecha. Es cuestión de poder. El gran club no le importa si aplaudes a un equipo o al otro: mientras no estés en el club, eres tú el que recibe los golpes. Carlin lo vio clarísimo porque se negó a tragarse las mentiras. Prestó atención. Y hoy, cuando vemos gente desarmada muerta a manos de agentes federales sin consecuencias reales, cuando las protestas son recibidas con más tropas en vez de reformas, cuando las noticias cuentan solo la mitad para mantener la máquina del enojo funcionando... todo sale directo de su libreto.
No podemos seguir fingiendo que esto es normal. El sistema no está roto: funciona exactamente como fue diseñado. Para los pocos de arriba. Carlin nos desafió a despertar, a cuestionar todo, a dejar de aceptar la ilusión. Porque si suficientes de nosotros lo hacemos, tal vez empecemos a cambiar las cosas. No esperando la próxima elección, sino viendo el juego por lo que es y negándonos a seguir jugando a ciegas.
Esa es la verdad que nos dejó. Y hoy es más vigente que nunca.
